The Red Door Café Story
It's been a wild and crazy journey! Characters included a mother/daughter/granddaughter team that had a hobby of looking at empty store spaces, were accumulating a massive pile of furniture, art, jewelry, antiques and home décor, and refinishing furniture without the slightest intention of going into business. None of us, including our husbands, thought it was weird.
Then we found the perfect spot and before we could turn around twice we were in business. People brought us things to sell and we sold our own items. Before long we were bursting at the seams and moved to a whopping big space. By then we were hungry and, since we had owned a restaurant in Alaska, we thought, heck!, let's open a café!
So, here we are, nearly five years later, Totally settled in the restaurant site at 202 West Third, as well as the space next door. Now we have the best of both worlds -- a unique boutiquey -type store to entice shoppers and a café that offers good food at good prices.
The Boorman and Thacker families invite you to join us for shopping and dining!
